about me
I'm a writer, director, and editor who explores socio-political dynamics across Canada, France, Iran, the Levant, and the U.S. Born in Tehran to a Lebanese father and French mother, I grew up in the shadow of the Persian Revolution and the Lebanese Civil War—experiences that shaped my perspective and passion for socially engaged storytelling. Drawing on my multilingual, multicultural background, I create character-driven stories rooted in social realism. I'm currently based between Los Angeles, Montreal, and Paris.
My feature narrative Niloofar screened at Berlinale, Cannes Junior, AFI Fest, and Dubai IFF, winning multiple awards, while my documentary Generation Zapped earned accolades at Sedona IFF, UNFF, and other festivals worldwide. My work has been supported by fellowships from Hedgebrook and DreamAgo, and my script Bringing It Home was a semi-finalist for the Athena Film Festival’s Abortion Pipeline Grant (2024) and Breaking Through The Lens (2022).
As an editor, I worked on several internationally recognized films, including 1982, Lebanon’s official Oscar submission in 2019 and The Olive Harvest, Palestine’s official submission in 2004. I love shaping powerful stories in the edit and I'm always looking to work with fellow filmmakers.
I have been actively engaged in the international film industry as a and a mentor in editing for the 2025 Mosaic Post-Production Lab, both initiatives of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan. I have also served on various selection committees for grants and organizations supporting emerging filmmakers.
Currently, I have a project in development with Purattu Films and Wishing Tree Productions and another with Le Grand Saut Productions and Tessalit.
Whether set in the deserts of California, the streets of Beirut, or the cafés of Paris, my films offer a sharp-eyed, unflinching look at the worlds we inherit—and the absurd ways we try to live in them.
